Modern
Modern classes are designed to build a technique balanced by correct alignment, strength, flexibility, coordination, and musicality. Dancers explore the inner connections (breath, core to distal, head to tail, top to bottom, homolateral, and cross-lateral) that are necessary for freedom and ease in creative, outward expression. Through playful interaction with gravity, dancers study the dynamics of energy that are the support and motivation for all movement. Creativity is encouraged in modern dancers on every level.

Jazz

Like the musical form for which it is named, jazz dance uses the complexities of rhythmic syncopation and translates it into isolated movement of the torso and limbs. Jazz technique emphasizes and develops body alignment, coordination, strength, flexibility, rhythm, and jazz dance vocabulary, as well as increased stamina, control, musicality and dynamics. There are many styles of jazz dance including Classic Jazz, East Coast and West Coast Jazz, Lyrical, and Jazz Funk. The style of technique changes monthly.

Choreography Lab
This class is designed to give the dancer some tricks, tools and practice in the creation of dances by using improvisation, creative assignments and projects. Choreography uses mental creativity and design which is expressed thru movement of the individual body and the action and interaction of the body and other bodies in space.

Conditioning
Athletic conditioning is a well understood concept but do you know dancers are athletes? This stretch and strengthen class is designed to round out dance training using balance, flexibility, core strength, alignment and cardiovascular health concepts.
